Victoryland - My Heart Is A Room With No Cameras In It
I listened to this album because I couldn’t escape people talking about it on the day of the release, and I haven’t stopped listening since. There’s a heavy Animal Collective influence throughout the whole album, a sound that my boyfriend Jeremy thinks is going to come back in a big way (more on that soon?) so when I first played this album I thought of him immediately.
My favorite tracks are "Arcades" and "No Cameras". Both tracks feel explosive in a way to me, and remind me of driving with the windows down through Florida with my friends, a lot of this whole album brings along a feeling of nostalgia that I find very comforting. I think that’s why I keep going back to it.

The TAGABOW NTS Session Video
It’s no secret that TAGABOW’S Lotto was one of my favorite albums of last year, so I didn’t want to choose just the album as my pick. I wanted to force everyone to watch this video that I cannot stop watching. This live performance is like Cocomelon to me, in the best way. The band playing in the middle of an active junkyard, the cuts to cars being smashed, it all fits so perfectly together.
I love this album, I love this performance, I love this band.
The Testament Of Ann Lee

This isn’t fully music related, although I will be talking about the music from this film for sure, but I really wanted to use the opportunity to recommend this movie, that was done so dirty by Searchlight Pictures and snubbed for any awards at this years Oscars.
Out of all of the films I saw last year, not many (new) ones stuck with me like Ann Lee did. Many of the musical numbers moved me to tears, something about people feeling so passionate about something that they can’t help but sing is really beautiful! All of the dancing scenes are so well directed that I keep replaying them over in my head and I saw this movie months ago, I highly suggest going to see it if you have the opportunity to, I haven’t seen anything in a long time that made me cry even after the credits rolled, but this was something.
LV Sandals - EsDeekid, fakemink, Rico Ace
Need I say more? I think this song speaks for itself. I’m kidding but also not really? This is absolutely not something I would normally listen to, in fact I’m not quite sure why I am including it in my staff picks, it just felt right. If I am having a bad day, I will listen to this song on repeat and handle it. Honestly it is just so awesome and I can’t fully explain why, but it does make me feel like a teenager again and maybe that’s why I like it, reminds me of simpler times.
Slint - Spiderland
I am finally getting around to listening to this album and boy is it making me feel crazy. Every band I like is pulling inspiration from this album, every single one. I can’t believe I didn’t listen to it sooner. I find myself asking the question: “How do I find more music that sounds exactly like ___” all the time and I have found that the best place to find it is looking at all of the 90s bands with cult followings and it’s right there. Every. Single. Time.
Everything about this album is so ahead of its time, all while being relatively simple.
